The five ski areas in the Meraner Land in South Tyrol offer a tremendous variety of winter sports activities for all levels and tastes.
You can bike at a variety of altitudes, from spring till late-autumn. The extensive network of bicycle paths around Schenna and the Meraner Land reach from the valley basin up to dizzying heights.
While the well-maintained winter hiking trails in the winter sport areas on the mountain zigzag through snow-filled landscapes, the mild Meran basic in the Etsch / Adige Valley is free of snow for practically the whole winter. Here you'll find lots of hiking trails for winter use, too, with pleasant temperatures – the ideal backdrop for wintertime hiking in South Tyrol.

In Meran / Merano and the vicinity, ski enthusiasts will be delighted to find a broad network of paths and trails winding through nearby villages and valleys – an untouched natural landscape.
What could be more fun than gliding through apple orchards on an electric city bike? E-bikes emphasize ease and pleasure. The "E Bike Schenna" rental agency – located in Schennastrasse, directly in the village center – is waiting to serve you. And chalet guests always have exclusive use of two electric bicycles during the entirety of their stay – at no extra cost!
Tobogganing has a long tradition in South Tyrol. In all five ski areas of Meran / Merano and its vicinity, there are numerous natural tobogganing courses leading to the valley. The Meran 2000 family ski area has not only a natural tobogganing course, but also the "Alpine Bob" track.
In late-November, numerous historical wine cellars and castle courtyards in Meran / Merano and the vicinity are transformed into fairytale landscapes. At the Christmas markets, skilled craftsmen and artists from the villages of South Tyrol offer local products. Bathed in a soft light, with cheerful melodies in the background, the peaceful pre-Christmas season in South Tyrol isn't to be missed.
In the form of a natural amphitheater surrounding the central lily pad pond, the Botanical Gardens in Meran / Merano are home to more than 80 different garden landscapes from all around the world.
